World’s Largest Loop Roller Coaster coming to Six Flags, Illinois

Six Flags amusement park in Gurnee, Illinois has announced that it will open the world’s largest loop roller coaster in the spring of 2018.  At 100 feet tall, the coaster is being dubbed as one of the park’s most intense rides – one that cannot be found anywhere else.  This will mark the park’s 16th coaster.

At 100 feet tall, the coaster is being dubbed as one of the park’s most intense rides – one that cannot be found anywhere else.  This will mark the park’s 16th coaster.

Riders will move forward and backward on a gigantic loop followed by an upside down suspension that will provide dramatic hang time.  With 360 degree revolutions and multiple inversions, the coaster will hold 32 people within a half and half mix of forwards facing and backward facing seats.  This will allow riders to experience the loop head on while others experience it backward, then vice versa as the coaster attacks the loop from the opposite direction.

Although the coaster has been designed, it has yet to be named.  However, it is known for certain that it will be located in the Mardi Gras section of the park, in the place of King Chaos, a tumbling platform ride that was removed from the park late this summer.
