Heading to Atlantic Canada for summer vacation and looking for something quaint yet classy, upscale yet cozy, and with a view that will make you wish vacation would never end? Then, perhaps you should consider the newly and beautifully renovated Rodd Miramichi in New Brunswick.
Nestled on the banks of the Miramichi River in the City of Miramichi’s Historic Water Street Business District, the hotel is only a short drive from Moncton, Saint John, and Fredericton and is easily accessed from major routes.
Despite its small city locale, the hotel is now quite contemporary and decked out with amenities to please the most discerning traveler, including 47″ flat screen televisions, complimentary high-speed wi-fi, desktop media hubs, hairdryers, coffee makers, irons and ironing boards. There are even a few select pet-friendly rooms.
Considering everything is new, the hotel is very clean and every bit as lovely as the photos would suggest. If you’re seeking a bit more space, the suites contain a living area with separate bedroom, both of which are modern but minimally furnished. And if a good shower is something you desire in a hotel room, Rodd Miramichi spoils guests with experiential showers.
The hotel also includes a lovely though small indoor pool, a whirlpool and a well-equipped fitness center with waterfront views that will inspire. Meeting facilities are available if you’re traveling for business purposes, and the on-site restaurant and bar are a delight.
Rodd Miramichi scores high with guests on cleanliness, design, staff, and value, so there isn’t much to be concerned about except making your reservation and arriving safely.
PROS: Location, views, ambiance, cleanliness.
CONS: Not a lot to complain about. However, when the hotel is busy, the staff can seem flustered and abrupt, and the restaurant service suffers.
