Salsa Festival

September 1st – 5th – The New York International Salsa Congress is New York City’s largest and longest-running Latin dance and music event where the world comes to dance no matter your style and/or age, whether you’re an amateur or professional dancer. This year is the 16th annual edition of the event held every Labor Day Weekend, and will take place at the prestigious New York Marriott Marquis, in the heart of Times Square, footsteps from Broadway theaters, museums and other NYC attractions. This year’s event is brought to you by a new team with the mission to take this event to the next level and pay tribute to the capital of the world, the MECCA OF SALSA, New York City.

Summer on the Hudson – West Side Country Fair

Sunday, September 4th – Summer on the Hudson’s biggest event of the whole season—the West Side County Fair—is a full day of county fair magic in Manhattan with carnival rides and games, awesome bands, sideshow performers, aerialists, local food and merchandise vendors, cotton candy, and more!

The West Side County Fair is a great way to celebrate the winding down of summer with family, friends, and neighbors.

Brazilian Day
Sunday, September 4th –  Brazilian Day in New York is a festival and live outdoor concert celebrating Brazil’s Independence day in the 25 blocks surrounding Little Brazil.  The festival began to celebrate Brazil’s Independence Day. Since 1984, that small celebration has only grown, up to the point of attracting over1.5 million people in 2010, according to official information from NYPD.

The 24th Annual Great North River Tug Boat Race

Sunday, September 4th – Be right in the action on the Circle Line Spectator Boat at the 24th annual Great North River Tugboat Race & Competitions! Get onboard the Spectator Boat and see the whole event up-close. Cruise with the Parade of Boats, and even race alongside the tugs in the big race! boarding begins at 9:00am, departure is at 9:30am from Pier 83 – so you’ll be on the water before the parade!

Caribbean Festival and Parade

Monday, September 5th – Celebrate Caribbean culture and history at the lively New York Caribbean Carnival: Labor Day Parade, with dancers in colorful costumes, reggae & calypso music, Caribbean food, and vendor booths in Brooklyn.  Admission is Free so go and enjoy!


Show Tunes Festival 

Monday, September 5th – Hear great songs from stage and screen at Elsie Fest in Ford Amphitheater at Coney Island Boardwalk.
